Pay Attention to What’s Happening Now

When doing Tai Chi, try to focus on being present, with your attention on the present moment. Being present just means paying attention to what’s happening now. During Tai Chi practice, your mind directs your body, so if your mind isn’t focused on what you’re doing from moment to moment, it will be more difficult to remember the movements.

It Helps to Focus on Your Breath

Your breath is a good reminder of the present moment. Many of us hold our breath when learning a type of movement. If you keep your breath moving the learning process will be easier.
